The research training group "Interactive Inference" at the Institute for Computer Science of the Friedrich Schiller University and funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation seeks to fill the positions of

seven PhD students (m/f/d) in computer science

commencing on 01. April 2022 (or later, until filled).

We offer full-time positions (40 hours per week, TV-L, E-13, 100%) limited to four years.

The research training group offers access to a wide variety of research projects at the forefront of artificial intelligence, each supported by at least two advisors from complementary fields.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in on machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Work together with practitioners from algorithm and performance engineering, logic, visualization, bioinformatics, and theoretical biology
  • Additional responsibilities based on your placement in the participating group(s)
  • Work on your own PhD

Your Profile:

  • University degree (Masters) in computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, or a related field
  • Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary field
  • Experience in one or more of the core areas as stated above

The position is limited to a period of four years. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
